Noise from the rear end
Driving along merrily today when I noticed a ***** ***** noise like something metallic dragging on the ground.
Checked but all ok.. Drove home slowly with a rhytmic metallic noise and also the occasional click.
I think I have a uv joint that has given up the ghost.
When I checked at home both wheel bearing seemed OK but the rear UV joint made a squeeky noise.
Any info re more detailed diagnosis.
I dont want to replace both UVs on the driveshaft and find that wasnt the problem. :mad

Re: Noise from the rear end (tippi58)
I think you need to figure out where the sound is comming from, right or left side of the car. I had a similiar problem, for me it was the Right side UV joints.

Yep, good idea. I just took a passenger out and he thought it came from the left and I thought it came from the right.
I couldnt talk him into hanging out the door to listen any closer.
