I have the 3911068 springs rated 80#@1.70.

The spring comp recommends is 105#@1.70.

It's important to use the recommended springs with the XE series of Cams. My understanding is it's the ramp profile, more so than the total lift that is the difference between the XE and other cams from the same company that appear to have similar lift/duration.

The shop says they will use a 110# spring when they do the heads so it looks like that will work fine.

I'd be careful on this one and just get the kit. The "shop" may just intend on using the popular Z/28 spring since this is a pretty standard upgrade for their off-the-shelf springs but it falls a bit short of the grinder's spring. If you go the shop route, ask them whose springs they are using or are they just going to shim up the shelf spring to get the 110# seat pressure.

Also keep in mind that springs degrade and become weaker with time and use. While a stock set at original specs may be adequate to handle a bigger cam, an old stock set might not. Considering the amount of effort and expense involved in the cam swap, I think it's false economy to not change the springs unless you know they're up to the task.
