Are you refering to the stamp pad on the engine block?

If so it is on the right (passenger side) of the motor, just forward of the head (Valve cover)...

If I remember right, it is on the rear end of the valve cover, parallel with the valve cover flange.

I think he is talking about the paper tag affixed to the back of the right valve cover. This tag, on 70-72's gave the engine code so that the assembly line workers could determine what to put on the engine during the buildup without having to read the pad.

I mean the sticker example the LM sticker where does it go on the valve cover, i read that it goes on the rear but where, on the rear part which is not really seen, or on the rear on top of the passenger cover

In the early years...you'll find them on the front. In later years...rear. Location...try center. It's not like the factory workers took a lot of time to place a sticker on a valve cover...probably rather random.

It goes on the right valve cover, in the rear, on the vertical part where it really "can't" be seen very well. It does not go on the rear top, like the "Tonawanda #1" sticker. Chuck
