IMHO, if it were an unsolicited call, you'de be a tard no matter what you drove. If it were scheduled, it wouldn't make any difference other than possibly becoming a topic of converstion.
If you came recomended I probably would not care but if I did not know you I might take that as a reflection on how succesfull you are. Remember right or wrong, first impressions mean a lot.

Talk about a foreign concept! I don't even know how to fake that one!
Kind of along the same lines as what I'd thought of before. What if you had some home improvements being done (remodel, addition, whatever) and the builder brought all of his tools in a nice enclosed trailer....towed by a Corvette?
Interesting topic Gene. What DO people think about someone in a C3? I know a lot of people assume my car cost a small fortune. Would people think you're snooty or something driving a flashy car? I'm not sure.
I suppose it probably depends on the level of neighborhood you're going to - I had a home-improvement type come to my home in an old Mercedes. This was back when I made about 1/4 of what I do now. Even though the Mercedes was an older car, there weren't any of those in my neighborhood, so I didn't really care for it.
Had it been some other newer bland look-alike car, it probably wouldn't have been a big deal.
My reaction would be that you are a car guy. I certainly wouldn't conclude that you're rich. I have never and still don't classify the C3's with the rich. Heck, I still don't classify the driver C2's with the rich. I had a college prof (early '90's) who drove his '62 daily. I didn't think he was rich, but just that he had a passion for his car.
I had an unsolicited sales call at my house a few days ago. Dude was selling steaks out of a Lincoln Navigator. I declined and made the comment I needed to get out of computers and into steaks if I could make enuff to drive a Navigator. He said his wife let him drive it only when it was low on gas. This is prolly the reaction you would get.
