objects in mirror are losers...AKA, my new mirrors
this thread refers to http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=630110
my old mirror glass was scratched up from 25 years of being wiped so this was a pretty cool $15 improvment :)
i learned the correct way to do this from an auto glass place a couple of doors down from my shop...
1st word of advise was...DO NOT place the new glass over the old...
remove the old glass by breaking it with a spring loaded center punch...
it works great...
2nd was...DO NOT use the d/f tape supplied with the mirror...
use silicone...100% pure silicone...
when you get the glass and old silicone out you will see where to put it on the 4 "posts"...
then use a styrofoam block or something similar and tape it tightly against the mirror for a few hours...
its cool having nice new mirror glass to see... :)
plus having the sign shop was handy to replace those little letters on the pass side :yesnod: :D

Signguy are you willing to mass produce those for the forum? If so i might be interested in a "Objects in mirror may soon disappear"

Those are great! What a hoot. Those would look great on any car. You could make a little profit on these.

Nice post regarding the mirrors. Mine are horrible, but, I was not sure how to tackle them as I had not seen this topic discussed on the forum before. I'm going to pick some new mirror covers up and get this taken care of now.
