Default Stupid question time!

i'm a new corvette owner ... a 72 big block.... i see 72 big blocks advertised as either a LS5 or a LS6 ... I thought all 72's were LS5's..... what is the difference? :banghead:

The LS6/454 was produced in 1971 only and produced 425hp vs the LS5/365hp in 71. Total production was 188 units. :chevy

so then 72 was only LS5/270 hp

In 72 you had the base L48/350 200hp, the LT1/350 255hp and your engine the LS5/454 270hp.
