The boyds on my car are17x8 with 4.5 bs. It has 255-45-17 front and 255-50-17 back. The fronts barely rub the frame at full turn and the park brake cable was moved inside the trailing arms and the bracket was rewelded to the top of the arms. Stock calipers clear fine. No spacers used front or back, but I might try a 1/4" up front in the future. Hope this helps!

Thanks thats exactly what I was looking for. I'm looking at the same Boyd wheels for my 71. I can't make up my mind on the Boyds or the Torque Thrust II's
I got the wheels from discount tire (salesman Vance) for 210 each and 1500.00 even shipped with load balance-chrome stems-wheel weights inside- lugs and BFG kdws tires that I love!!! I promise that I got the wheels in less than 48 hours and they were sent UPS ground! I will use discount from now on! Steve

Hey stlblues- do you have a fiberglass spring on the back?
I'm not sure, but alot of people are having problems with their aftermarket spring being very close to the tire. I figured with the 4.5' bs, it would be even closer. By the way, are you from st. louis? I'm from there but live in okc.
My wife is from St louis and we have all of her relatives still there( from Balwin to St Ann). We are hockey nuts (blues fans) and I play in a mens league here in Tulsa. We need to meet up! Your mods sound awesome! I have trick flow heads and DUI /MSD stuff- also a set of 1.6 rollers and ported factory cross-fire intake. It has a little more HP than stock- ecm and cam is stock. I did buy a 354 posi unit to replace my stock 289's? Should work good with the stock 700r4 I hope. I also have a 78 el camino with a 406-3500conv-390 gears. High 12's when running right?! We bought the vette from my mother in-law with 55,000 on it. It has 64,000 now and I cant stay out of it!!
So when are you heading to Tulsa? Let me know when you have something cool going on in town and we could head up! Not a Blazer/oilers game(hate to see my team get beat!) I need to take my wife to bricktown and myself to basspro.

Steve, Didn't Boyds go out of business? Do you know if you can still get these wheels?
the wheels are boyd smoothie 2's 17x8 with 4.5 bs. You can see them at discounttiredirect.com do a search for 1987 monte carlo ss with 17" and it will pull up several boyds IN STOCK for 210.00 each and up. I chose the BFG kdws tires 255-45 and 255-50's rear. My car never got noticed much until the boyds and now people surround me at the gas pump and any parking lot - fun! just wish it ran like it looks! thats next!!
