Dye these seats black or red??? Does the leather dye really work and not wear off? although this grey is looking good too.

Don't dye them. Just recover them with the correct color. I have never seen a dyed seat that the dye stays on the seat. Sooner or later the dye will end up on your cloths.
Be careful removing the old covers and put them on Ebay.

I have dyed a lot of leather. Never a car seat but a few saddles...
I find that dyeing over another color doesn't work as well as dying the same color. The trick to keeping the dye on the seats and not rubbing off- use a sealer when done.
Goes without saying you need to prepare the leather for the dye- there are a variety of leather conditioners out there, as well as good ol' laquer thinner.
Not sure if this will help or not- but it sure works well reviving old beat up horse tack!

Dyed my gray leather C-4 seats to Black--so far so good--hasn't rubbed off yet--bought stuff called specialty performace products from a local auto paint store, comes in a quart can-put it in your spray gun and go--I put 2 coats on let the 1st dry completly adn then the 2nd--can;t tell they were gray or that they were even dyed--just my 2cents---Oh also only $40 for the can not bad but I'm as cheap as they come---
