Hello,
I recently bought my first Corvette after years of wanting one and I couldn't be happier. Bought a 1978 Silver Anniversary in better than average condition. I have a problem that so far I can't diagnose, sometimes at speeds over 60 mph it just stops running, like it has no spark. As soon as I stop, it restarts and I move on. It may happen 2 or 3 times but then runs great. I have taken the distributor apart, replaced a few of the internal parts, but nothing has solved the problem. Am I looking in the right place? It gets spark to the distributor but not apparantly from. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Mike

I believe it is stock. There is an ACCEL kit on the distributor that is obviously not stock, but the ignition seems factory. Thanks for the reply.

I can't help, but welcome to the forum.
If you don't get an answer, you might retry and title the post "distributor cuts off at 60mph", or something similar. With the current title, those that scan the threads will not see that you have a problem.

I can only recommend the obvious stupid stuff.. Like make sure you have good connections at the battery and grounds. I once had an electrical problem where lights dimmed under hard braking and battery wouldn't hold a charge. When I pulled out the dead battery the cable connections just crumbled..... DUUHHH!!! Whenever I applied the brakes, gravity broke the connection....
