Default 1981 base & optional gears

Can someone tell me what are the base, and optional, rear gears for 1981 Vettes?

I am guessing 2.73 & 3.08.

I think the gear ratio available in 81 was a 3.07.....

The axle ratio for 81 is
(auto) 2.87
(manual) 2.72

I don't think there were any options.

Thanks for the info. There was a G92 performance axle ratio option for 1981, but it looks like very few people ordered it.

Hmmm, it appears that the Corvette Black Book may be in error. That's the only place I can find any mention of an optional axle ratio. I just remembered that I had a brochure for 1981, and that "option" is not mentioned.

Oh well . . .

The registry shows the specs as I understand them...4 speeds are equipped with the 2:72 axle while the auto got the 2:87 axle. No options in 81!

But I'm curious about the G92 performance axle...where did you see it?

The G92 option is listed in the Registry under options, which looks like it was copied from the Corvette Black Book.

I am started to think that this option ever existed.
