Default Mechanical fuel pump

Hey guys...

What brand fuel pumps do yall run?

I'm still (gag) working on the 75... Am I right to think that an AC Delco replacement would do just fine? I'd bet it'd be a mexican made part...

Has anyone used an edelbrock with sucess?

I'd like to put some miles on the car... and dont want to lose the fuel pump...

Thanks

I bought a stock replacement pump for my hyped up 350 (375 hp) and it got me to 13.4 @ 104 mph reving to 6000 with not signs of fuel starvation. Sure it is a cheap foreign job.

AC-Delco works just fine. As to foreign parts - Do we actually make anything in the US anymore.... doesn't seem like it!

Do yall think a summit special (branded by summit) will work for daily driving?

Almost worth the risk ($$) to give one a shot...

I just grabbed a stock one for my 75 from Auto-Zone--like $12.00--can't go wrong at that $$

I run a Holley fuel pump. It doesn't have a return vapor line though.

GoPens, same here. So far so good. I don't know how many miles are on it but I have put quite a few. It has been on for 2 years now.

Some one here posted a pic of a modified holley pump, believe it was their street flow pump, that they tapped a flat side of the pump for a return line, the fitting was a very small nipple to promote flow through the orig fitting. You can also use a regulator to route fuel to the return line. Main benefit to a return line is that it allows fuel to cont to circulate so it does not become hot while sitting in the fuel pump under pressure.

Pretty cool Fevre!

I think I'd rather have hot fuel (as long as its not boiling...) over more potential leaks.

That being said...

What do yall think about the M55 Mellings oil pump vs the M55A? Besides a difference of 13 bucks!

Do yall have an opinion about the summit racing brand water pumps? I'm pondering using an aluminum... Probably a bad idea, from a reliability standpoint, but for weight...

I'll have to stop by the parts places around here and check on some pricing!
