Stripes on white C3's? Pics please
I've always been lukewarm about the classic white paint on my 73... it's elegant, but just not flashy enough. I'm thinking of putting a stripe down the car to spice it up a little... any opinions on this?
Does anyone have white C3's with stripes of any color? Blue seems like it would like good. Please post pics if you can.
Thanks!
Dave

I remember seeing a white c3 that had a blue bumble bee stripe around the rear deck and it had some hood stripes as well. Way I can't find the link but maybe someone else could post it. By the way, I love white with blue stripes.

Mine is "Arctic White" (a little bluer) I find it stands out quite well, pops even with fresh wax, but I have been toying with the idea of a small flame job from the vent behind the front wheel to the end of the doors... Now blue would look quite nice, but I have a red interior....

My 79 is white with red interior and I have red pin stripes down the sides of each fender that follow the curve of the fender. Just enough contrast to break up an otherwize dull picture. These are thin double stripes on all four fenders which accentuate the lines of the car perfectly. Sorry, no pics at present.

Thanks for the input everyone! Grandsport - that is one gorgeous Vette. I would love to repaint my entire car in that scheme but several thousands of dollars prevents me from doing so.
My interior is brown vinyl... A brown stripe is not what I was imagining... I can see my buddies renaming my car "Dirty Underwear." So another color might be better.
Do you all think blue stripes with a brown interior would be that bad?
Dave

I'd be interested in seeing a white one with a blue stripe as that is what I'm planning, stinger hood, white pearl (Cadillac color). I have a blue interior.. I was only planning for the stripe to be in the front, not sure what it would look like in the back? (80-82 rear bumper)
Ooops, sorry Terry, that one came up while I was typing.

On a C3, I think stripe design is more important than stripe color. The body is so busy on its own that if the stripe deosn't compliment the curves, it looks out of place. My opinion, of course. Below are few I think look outstanding...
Gunmetal stripes on white would look good.

I agree with CGGorman the stripe shape is more important than the color. Some stripes I've seen look really bad. fortunately for me, I really like mine. The Vette was painted this scheme well before I bought it and I think the stripe is part of which attracted me to the car.
I don't really have a good picture of the stripe that runs down the top and most people don't even know it's there. Here's an old picture before I had the hood painted and a lot of other changes done.
I still need to continue the stripe down the hood. As you can see in this newer picture, the stripe stops right at the wiper door. I'm unsure how I want the stripe to end though. It'll either end in a point at the L-88 hood or like that ZL-1 above. I do like the Baldwin Motion stipe which starts with a wrap at the rear and runs down the center of the car. My paint scheme seems to be a combination of the '78 SA and the B-M.
