Allright guys. T-Shirts will be comming. I will look into sweatshirts also.
Look for the thread in a week or 2. I will start taking orders then. That majic number will again be 40. Once I have 40 spoken for the order will go in.
Sorry to say this, but we are BY FAR in the minority. Most Corvette owners support the "numbers matching" mantra.
(I learned this the HARD way...)
I am a numbers matching guy and I think these lawyers and hard a** are a waste of time and effort.
Do not let them intimidate you. It looks like they have no rights to that acronym, as evidenced by so many others using it.
Norm, wait before you print any more.I want to put one of mine on E-bay in the Corvette section and get a zillion dollars for it. Headline will read" soon to be banned illegal t-shirt"

Hey Commander, How ya doin'. Don't forget...Gotta use that special word that sells everything....RARE
While the NCRS site does not use any trademark notifications with NCRS, they don't need to. Mine busienss name IS trademarked and per every attorney, while a case is stronger with the service marks, they are only a courtesy. I have won a case already.
Also, while there are several other NCRS branded organizations, trademark infringement requires that the mark in question be potentially confusing. If you were to go to an NCRS site and find the national crazy robert's society, you would know that you were in the wrong place. In this case, there stands to be some confusion, if only for a minute. As mentioned, even that little bit requires legal action to protect the trademark.
One last note, Parody is fine. An issue may arise when the parody appears to be a blatant use of the logo/name/tagline/etc being parodied.
I am not an attorney, but having been on the "charging infringement" side of the coin, be careful.

As Robert N states above, if you are in the same business environment where there can be confusion, you will have a problem with infringement. Every time we have looked into naming new products, we had to do extensive searches to make sure it was ok to have similar/same names and acronyms as long as you are not in the same markets and business sectors. The other different groups that use NCRS that were mentioned in the posts above are not in the same market or business sectors so there is no chance for someone to confuse them. You may want to be sure and consult a knowledgeable patent attorney before you continue to use it on more shirts, decals, etc. after the date on the letters you've received.

I'm not into putting stickers or decals on my vehicles, but by God I'll proudly put one of yours in my back window. Put me down for two decals and a large t-shirt.
