Default 71 door switch problem

Hi all: I have a 71 coupe that seems to have a short in the drivers door courtsey light switch. This is the one that is supposed to light the interior lights when the door is opened. The problem is the horn relay buzzs when door is opened ,not enough to set off the horn. I can wiggle the horn button in the center of steering wheel and it will stop the buzz. Anybody ever have this problem or any ideas how to fix it? This started after the four speed trans and clutch were rebuilt. The switch on passengers door does not make it happen .

Default Key warning buzzer

Sounds like the key warning buzzer when key is left in and DRIVERS door is opened. The Horn relay doubles as a buzzer.

See if it buzzes when key is out?

Default Thanks for the help

Jim and Joe : Thanks for your answers to my post. They give me a good start toward solving one of many small problems with this car. I had removed the key early on and the buzz continues. It looks like the faq has enough info to trace it down or at least disable the thing...ED
