I think its kinda smart.

1973 Corvette Can-Am Convertible High performance big block, widebody for super handling, only 40,680 miles. Frame on restoration was completed in July 2004. Only 450 miles since restoration.
Engine – This engine is based on the LS7 which was almost built in 1971. High HP & TQ. Original LS4 Big block has been bored .60 over to 468 ci. Fully balanced and blueprinted. Rectangular port matched high flow open chamber heads. Aluminum high rise LS6 intake manifold port matched. Isky performance cam – 512 lift, 306 duration, 108 lobe center. 9.0 to 1 compression pistons. Holley 9380 Race Carb – 850 cmf 4 barrel with double pumper race carb. Completely rebuilt including milling, blueprinted, and flow tested
Mechanical – You will be hard pressed to find a better running & handling C3. Muncie M21 4 speed with 3:36 close ratio transmission. Daytona Suspension – stiffer springs. New Griffin high-capacity aluminum radiator. New electronic ignition & high performance plug wires. New adjustable rear camber rod kits, and new 1 1/8" front anti-sway bar. New high pressure gas shocks. New fluids – radiator, engine oil, trans lube, brake, rear axle lube, ltd. Slip additive, etc. Factory air conditioning was removed several years ago, but I have all the parts
Interior – New leather seats, carpet, door panels, etc.Tilt-telescopic steering column. New Midnight blue 100% leather seats & foam, piller and header posts. New Midnight blue door panels, sun visors, full carpet set with pad, Lloyd’s mats. New Ceramic under carpet heat barrier – full set. Also have heat shield under tunnel. New rear compartment 3 door assembly with new storage compartments, sill plates. New rebuilt tach/speedometer assembly
Exterior – One of a kind functional widebody vintage correct convertible. Custom Can-am style front and rear body flares. Body was modified to accept wider wheels to increase handling. Custom screens give flares a finished race look. Chrome hooker headers with chrome side pipes. L88 high rise hood with Midnight blue pin striping. Completely restored American Racing 15" x 10"rims, polished and powder coated. New B.F. Goodrich Radial T.A. RWL (275/50/15 fronts & 295/50/15 rears). New custom two tone paint job of 2004 Porsche silver and grey with midnight blue pin striping. New painted black Auxiliary Hardtop. Stored in new storage cover. Black vinyl on car. New Noah Flannel Car Cover

Back in the mid to late 70's Car Craft magazine did a series of articles building up one of these cars. They weren't considered classics back then, so it wasn't a beg deal to modify them, especially if it was well done. They used mostly high quality items, and all-in-all I thought they did a pretty nice job building it. They even used the American Vector wheels! This isn't by chance the Car Craft car is it???

I still have the magazine articles… just haven't read them in about 20 years!
