Default 79 Project/Parts Car For Sale - SOLD

My son and I bought a 79 for a project a few years back and we have been working on it since. A few months ago he found a 72 that was almost in running condition so we are going to spend our time and money on that instead of the 79. Since I don't have room for 2 Vettes the 79 is up for sale.

The car needs lots of work and is missing some parts. The car is almost totally dismantled so it would be very difficult to ship anywhere. If you are looking for a car to part out most of the work has been done. You could easily make some money.

If you buy any low $ Vette chances are it will need a complete rebuild so we have at least saved you the dismantling time and some of the reconditioning.

I'd like to get $1,100/B.O. for the whole car. I'm located in North Easton, Massachusetts to give you an idea of how far you would have to go to pick the car up. It could be shipped in one of those Pod containers but it would be very expensive. I'll list all of the details I can think of below. The quickest way to contact me is via email at

blair.richard@comcast.net

or PM with any questions and I'll get back to you.

1979 Corvette Coupe.
Originally Silver, now painted white, dark blue interior. I have a copy of the original dealer invoice listing everything that was originally on the car.
L48 engine (original, s/n stamped on block), turbo 350 trans. Engine turns but has not been run in many years.

Clear Title.

Assembly Instruction Manual included (you'll need it).

Body is in decent shape except for damage to right rear quarter.

Interior is rough - typical of most project cars I've seen. Some light rust on driver's floor but no holes and they seem solid.
Will need new carpets, seat covers. Dash has no cracks. Door panels not bad. Glass is all OK.

Frame has been wire brushed, painted with 2 coats of Rust Bullet and a topcoat of Chassis Black. Interior of frame still needs to be treated. #1 and #4 body mounts on the pass. side need top plates repaired - not a major job.

Radiator support is in good shape. There is some rust rattling inside when it is turned over, but no holes. The support has also been painted with Rust Bullet and Chassis Black.

Missing/broken stuff:

Center guage cluster missing.
No carb
No distributor
No master cylinder
No rear calipers
No front control arms or rear trailing arms. I may have some suspension parts to include from a frame I'm intending to buy.
No steering column or wheel.
Glass T-Tops need new glass - frames are good.
2 Rallye trim rings missing.
No center caps for wheels.
Front and rear fascias pretty worn - usual urethane deterioration. All supporting structures are there.
Headlight support needs to be re-bonded to nose.

Here are some pics of the body and frame.

Wow - $1100 bucks for a cleaned up frame is a good price.
Someone who needs a frame for their 79 should jump all over this.
Good Luck

Hi
Now you have me interested.
Do you have pics of the rest of the car?
Would the parts fit in a old suburban? (1977)
I have a trailer...but I live in NC so I would need to get everything in one shot. My inlaws are in Mass.
So I might have a few options ...
Thanks Kyle

The smaller parts would fit in the Suburban but the frame, body and engine/trans probably wouldn't. You could always move everything to your in-laws house and gradually move stuff to NC. You would probably need a mid-size U-Haul to take everything in one trip. I have a couple of strong sons who could be pressed into service to load a truck.
