73 L-82 w/AT For Sale
I am selling my 1973 Corvette. It has the L82 engine, automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, power windows, tilt-telescopic steering wheel, and map light options. The original AM/FM Stereo radio is not installed, but included. A Custom Auto Sound AM/FM stereo w/ remote CD charger is installed. The color is dark blue (927) and the interior is black vinyl (400), correct per the trim tag. The trim tag date code is L20 = July 20.
A 9 month frame on restoration was done in 1999 by Corvette Classics in Georgia. New paint, interior, A/C system, engine overhaul, transmission overhaul, new gas tank and lines, weatherstripping, and suspension bearings and bushings were done on the restoration. The paint used was PPG with three coats of clearcoat. I have added a removable rear window, a vacuum control valve for the heater water lines, and 1970’s type GM cruise control. The brake calipers have been upgrade to the o-ring type pistons and seals. The HVAC blower has been upgraded to a 1978 style motor and fan impeller for more air flow.
The problems with the car are: there is a small area of paint in the roof that is blemished, the power steering valve has a small fluid leak at one of the hose connections – something I am not worried about enough to fix. The cruise control transducer now allows the speed to vary about 20 mph – I have never tried to adjust the transducer, but I do have a spare unit. After the installation the speed variation was less than 5 mph.
The car was originally purchased in Nashville, TN and was moved to Georgia and Florida and then purchased by me in 2000 and moved to VA. All major components appear to be ‘matching numbers’. I have created a listing of the components with the P/N’s and date codes on an Excel spreadsheet.
For vehicle documentation I have a copy of the MSO, the selling dealer invoice, original title – all acquired from TN DMV. I have a copy of the other previous titles. A copy of the build sheet is not on the gas tank or behind the dash. I do not have the window sticker – the original owner told me he passed it on with the car, the third owner knows nothing about it. I have not been able to contact the second owner.
