This is one of the Factory Greenwood Widebody racecars but one that was compelted a little later and does not have very much period history but a fair amount of later Vintage Racing history. It was owned by Dave Force for a long time who also had one of the GTP Corvettes. I don't believe that there ever was a "Sprit of America" Car. With that being said I would agree, owning one of the widebody cars would be a must!! I do love the cars!!! Very Cool!!

Corvettes at carlisle had many of the original widebody racers and a few customer cars some years past in their chips choice display. Actual racers like this are hard to come by, but check the for sale page on greenwood corvettes... I bought a widebody daytona greenwood years ago....just sold it to a dealer last month.. If your looking for a greenwood, also look to www.makoshark2.com .

Are there any websites about Corvettes @ Carlisle with pictures of the original widebodies, as far as you know?

on www.corvettesatcarlisle.com on the gallery page are just dozens of events and hundreds of pics. Carlisle keeps theses pics up for 1-2 years only. On greenwoods wesite, they have a link called racers reunion and the pics their were the ones from carlisle. Hope this helps. I never met john greenwood, but i 've met his son and visited the greenwood shop in Apopka Florida...I havent seen them though at carlisle for about 4 years now....
