Assembled on April 26, 1978, this car represents the most desirable option combination of all '78 Pace Cars: L82/4 speed with CB radio and leather. Furthermore, this car shows just 4,393 documented original miles! The paint on this collector-quality car is in very good condition, with a gorgeous, deep shine. This car wears the door decals as well as all the standard Pace Car decals, all of which are in very good condition. All exterior glass on this car shows a correct date code, including the t-tops, which are frequently swapped around even on low mileage cars. The t-tops themselves are in very good to excellent condition, with soft perimeter trim. This car's weatherstripping appears to be original, and is in very good condition, still very soft in most areas. Taillights look to be original, and are in overall good condition. Exterior door handles are in very good condition with no major finish issues, and no rubbing issues. Slotted aluminum wheels are in good to very good condition with no curb rash, and wear what look to be the original Goodyear GT Radial outlined white letter tires. These tires show an average of 10/32nds tread depth remaining in the front, and an average of 8/32nds in the rear. The interior of this 1978 Corvette Indianapolis 500 Pace Car L82 looks to be very much if not completely original, with no apparent dyed components. Steering wheel is soft with a tight cover, and is in very good condition. Gauges are in very good to excellent condition with clear lenses and no fading. Dash pad is in very good to excellent condition with tight speaker grilles and no typical warping. Door panels are very good to excellent with no tears, and the factory leather seat covers are in very good condition and free of tears as well. Passenger's armrest is tight; driver's side is getting a little weak, but is still completely intact with no breaks. GM seatbelts are present, and in very good condition with very good condition labels. Original carpet still has a great sheen to it, and is in very good condition. This car even has its correct original floor mats in very good condition, which are not being correctly reproduced at this time. Correct snap-style t-top bags are also present, and the center console is in very good condition. Storage bins are in very good to excellent condition with no apparent cracking. The numbers matching engine in this 1978 Corvette Indianapolis 500 Pace Car L82 shows original casting date March 30, 1978, and final assembly date April 14, 1978. Correct ignition shielding, hoses, intake manifold, carburetor, and air cleaner are all in place, as well as the air pump. Engine compartment looks to be nearly untouched since it was assembled, completely devoid of out-of-place fresh rattle can paint. Frame is solid and rust-free, and the power locks and hood light are working great at the time of this writeup. This car has been fully serviced, and all instrument gauges, lights, turn signals, brakes, engine, transmission and rear-end are all in good operating condition.
