1971 LS5/4spd - Bridgehampton Blue coupe
1971 LS-5 Corvette Coupe, original 454 365hp/460 ft lbs torque. 2 owner, 68k orig. miles, all numbers matching car, and well cared for over the years. Previous owner (2nd owner) since 1977. No major body damage can be found, and likely a no hit car. Car has had one repaint, and still retains its original interior. The previous 2nd owner had parked the car in 1999, as noticed by its last official inspection at that time. This was due to a leaking gas tank, which has been replaced with a quality reproduction gas tank from Quanta Products.
Car is being offered at $25,000.

Transmission #: C11S116382
Rear Differential#: AB W 57 E2 (AB = factory 3.70 rear ratio)
Intake #: 3955287 - Date 2271
Distributor #: 1112051
Carburetor #: 7041205 FD 0771
Exhaust Manifold # (Passenger): 3880828
Exhaust Manifold # (Driver): 3969869
Alternator: (over the counter replacement)
Expansion Tank #: 3016340 71C
Transmission Main Case #: 3925661 – Serial # C11S116382 – Date: PIM138
Transmission Tail Housing #: 3978764
Transmission Sidecover #: 395264
Starter #: 1108400 (original and recently rebuilt)
Exterior Condition:
Overall, the car presents its self very well. You can tell the car has been well cared for to be in the condition it’s in, and it’s originality. However, this car is not a Concourse style frame off restored car! It is 41 years old. The car does have one repaint, and unfortunately the color is slightly darker than what original Bridgehampton Blue should be. This is noticeable with a couple of pieces we had repainted in Bridgehampton Blue (gas tank lid, front quarter panel egg crate vents) and the overall color of the car is slightly darker. The paint does have several spots that have chips, and minor cracking around exterior rear view mirror. There is one small spot on passenger side rear corner of touch up paint. In this area, there is no noticeable bondo or fiberglass repair work on the underside.
Interior Condition:
The car does retain its original interior. So it does have some signs of its age, but overall it’s in really good original condition. The original carpet is in average shape, but no major rips or tears. The original seat covers are in average shape. The original doors panels do have a couple minor cracks on the arm rest.
Mechanical Condition:
The car runs, drives, stops well. Transmission shifts fine, and at some point, the clutch has been replaced. The timeframe on that can not be confirmed though. Also, the rear end ring and pinion has been replaced, and the original is in a box. Original spark plug wires were replaced recently with correct reproduction braided wires. All instruments and gauges are working, with the exception of the fiber optic system.
Known issues:
- Depending on how particular you are, the car could use a paint job. We’ve priced the car accordingly and taken this into consideration already.
- As stated above, overall condition on the car is very original and well taken care of. If you’re looking for a perfect restored car, then this may be an issue for you.
- Small patch work of paint on the rear passenger side.
- Aftermarket, older style alarm system has been added. 1 wire to the horns, and easily removed.
- Original items missing: Orig. gas tank replaced, alternator has been replaced, shifter is an aftermarket correct Corvette style Hurst shifter. Orig rocker lower rocker panels have been replaced. Recently installed correct reproduction spark plug wires. Some removed parts are included in the sale with the car.

This is cool, my 71 454, build date 4/29/71, has the motor built right before yours. As in the next number. On a related note, the VINs on the pad look identical. Note how the second pair of ones have a slight height difference. So I guess this vouches that it's not a re-stamp. Not that it was in question.
bump for good car!

C6Duffman,
Wow, that is very cool! I don't think I've ever seen two that close together before. I've seen serial numbers on two different cars that were say 25-30 cars difference, but not this.
Thanks for sharing, and thanks for the bump on the car.

Yeah I had to re-read the numbers a few times to be sure. It would be cool to get the cars together. Too bad they're across the country from each other. Feel free to pass on my info to the new owner. Maybe he'll be on the west coast.

In other words, if anyone in North Jersey is thinking of NOT making an offer on this car because of the non-tile/tele, please offer this seller $1008 less than his asking price and send me a PM.
Harps: awesome car, and great ad. I like the slightly darker blue too, I sometimes wish my Bridgehampton Blue '70 was a little darker blue.
