FS: Yellow Stingray
Lets start with some pictures
1976 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray
VIN #: 1Z37L6S432249
Miles: 83,xxx
Color: Velocity Yellow
Interior Color: Buckskin
Engine: 350, bored .03 over
Transmission: 350 Automatic
PRICE: $14,995
Additional Information:
Beautiful, reliable car with all the work done to improve safety, handling, and reliability. All you have to do is turn the key.
I only drive it on nice days and it is a real head turner. The prior owner only drove it to display in car shows or in parades.
It was in great shape when I got it, but I spent over $4k on updates and upgrades (have all receipts). My kids fight over who gets to ride with me when I drive the Vette... so I had to be sure it was safe. I started with brand new:
-brake calipers,
-stainless steel brake lines,
-brake pads all around.
-Micro Edge wiper blade
Then I improved the handling with new new:
- Bilstein HD Sport shocks on all 4 corners,
- VBP 360# composite rear transverse monospring with poly spring cushions (OMG the shocks and spring improved handling!)
- front upper and lower control arm bushings,
- rear strut rod and all new bushings and bolt plate.
- front sway bar poly mounts, link bushings, and brackets
- ball joints
- steering rag joint
- steering idler arm
And for reliability, new:
- carb rebuild by a quadajet expert
- double platinum spark plugs
- transmission cooling lines
- power steering hoses
- fuel vapor hoses
- motor mounts
- fuel pump hose
- upper radiator hose
Parts that come with the Corvette, but I haven't installed yet (none of these need done right away, but I have them for when they are needed):
-new lower radiator hose
-transmission filter
-AC compressor
-AC R-134 conversion kit
-AC R-134 recharge canisters
-original rear transverse leaf spring
It is a 36 year old classic muscle car that is in great shape and I wouldn't hesitate to drive it across country. However, it
is not perfect. There is a small (maybe the size of a quarter) spider crack i the hood paint. You can't see it unless you are looking for it. There is also a 1/2" long and about 1/16" long scratch on the front bumper.
On the inside, the leather seats are pretty good, but show a little wear. As with every Stingray I've seen, the clock doesn't work.
In the engine bay, the AC compressor has a bad clutch, so the drive belt has been removed. The belt and a replacement compressor/clutch will come with the car, but I never use the AC, since it has T-tops, so I never got around to installing it.
You may find cheaper C3 Corvette's out there, but none that are this nice, with this much recent work to improve safety, handling, and reliability, for anywhere near this price.
Whoever is lucky enough to be the next owner of this car will be thrilled with the purchase.

If anyone has any thoughts on my car, the price, or how I might do better selling it, please PM me. I don't want to clutter this thread with discussion, but would like feedback. This is the first time I've put this kind of car up for sale, so I'm open to suggestions (via PM).

I'm a big fan of yellow corvettes, I've owned many. I've "personalized" most of them too. But when it's time to sell you'll get better results if you "unpersonalize" it so you don't scare off buyers. Get a rattle can of satin or semi-gloss black and paint over the red on the rocker moldings. Use a hair dryer and pull off the vinyl hood stripes. It looks like a beautiful car, and by getting rid of the controversial colors it will appeal to more buyers

Seeing how this response is the first activity since December, 2012 and the OP asked for comments by PM, not posting, I'm going to close the thread.
OP, if the car is still for sale, and you wish for an active ad thread, please start a new one, maybe considering input you have received and with less dead picture links and repetitious pictures.
