Any luck finding a 68 driver?? took me 4 years to find a 68 coupe just the way I wanted it, Intl Blue with bright Blue interior, base 300hp engine with auto trans, it was a hard car to find.

had one pm on a potential so far, my requirements arent as exact as yours so hopefully im able to find something faster than 4 years down the road.

im even open to something that needs paint or other work, just not a major frame off replace the birdcage deal that was pulled out of a lake somewhere and i would be happy.

Really depends on frame and birdcage condition. Some like me see the non-numbers matching and need of paint as an opportunity to get a Corvette for less and paint it a colour that really appeals to us. Pictures can be misleading. I saw pictures of a Corvette posted here that looked super nice but a member with close up pictures of problem areas showed it was really in quite poor shape.

Just from the pictures, as someone who has been going thru a 68, it still needs some work. Splicing in harnesses usually means a bigger problem. By the look of the tires bleeding white, i would want to see the date codes on them.
Because he is a dealer i am guessing he is asking $19,990. If i were going to purchase it knowing what I know now...$14k would be my limit.

Just sayin...cause you asked!!

The radiator doesn't look right. 454 is obviously not original. Who knows what lurks underneath everything. Trying to locate replacement parts could be a pain not knowing what the po used to splice this together. 14k might be high. Since you just want a driver you could have alot of fun with this. I would find out if this was an original big block car just because the drive train was different from the small blocks including the u joint straps. Hopefully its a good price. Knowing your 18k price I would look for a better one. Paint alone is gonna be expensive

one more for your opinions

https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/h...540844470.html

this one is much closer to me, he has no pictures of the frame as of right now but says there is just surface rust and it is solid, i would need to confirm this if i was to go look at it. the seats are out of an 80's model and the trim codes are 42 (dark orange) and paint is 992 (bronze). the doors look to be sagging a tad and the wiper door looks to be jammed open also.

You could have him send you some pictures of the body mounts behind the kick panels and that would give you a hint of level of rust on the car such that you might feel willing to go look at it.
