It's only for sale 1) space is a $$$ premium in Silicon Valley, and it occupies alot of that in my tiny garage 2) not hard to maintain, but I still trust almost everything to mechanics, which are super expensive in SV 3) per said costs referenced in points 1 & 2 above, I am very much hoping to leave Silicon Valley in the next 6-12 months. (also why there is no effort to register the car here, although that'd likely make it more attractive to a preferred local buyer)
My last move from TX -> CA, I spent about $4K on the car; $1500 to store while in residence limbo (high end auto storage facility), ~ $1200 to transport, + another ~ $1K in maintenance associated with a cross country move and a year near idle.
