During a Magical Mystery Tour while in the Air Force, the joint ops "boss" was a scary guy. Pale blue, eyes, he would look at you and give you chills. Nice guy, great leader, would not dream of fu**ing with him, or his men, for that matter.

Your CL ad says big block cars of this era did not have a/c.

They certainly did

I had a read an article somewhere where Chevrolet didn't want to put AC in big block cars due to their high revs and the fear that AC belts would jump the pulley... Dunno where I read it... Im sure some got by with AC.

My AC belt stays on at 5 grand?
An old racers trick.... it was thought to remove all unnecessary belts off the engine to reduce drag and loss of HP.
Hence like my' 68 BB it has an idler pulley so the water pump can still run with the alternator and P/S belts off.
Very nice blue by the way.

They made a lot of 71 big blocks with A/C. I've seen more with them than without actually.

1970 and 71 LT-1 small blocks had no AC for the reason you cite.

These were in the showrooms the year I graduated high school. Looks like a lovely car, seller. One of the best colors, too.

It's always nice to see a big block with a manual tranny. Do you know if the engine was rebuilt to completely OE specs or was it upgraded (cam, pistons, etc.) at all?

The lack of A/C is a positive IMO.
