Default Feeler/FS: 1972 Corvette LT-1 Coupe

I've been considering selling my 1972 Corvette as I am starting to get the itch to get back into something newer. I love this car, I do, but I can never keep a car for more than a few years. I may regret this, heck, I know I'll regret this. I also regret selling my 04 Z06. Wish I had the $ for all the Corvettes. Anyhow, on to the info of my car.

1972 Corvette LT-1 Sport Coupe
Targa Blue Exterior, Blue vinyl interior
Numbers matching, original engine, original transmission
LT-1 350ci/255hp solid lifter performance engine option
M21 close ratio 4sp transmission
Power Steering
Power Brakes

The car was restored in 2004. Paint, interior, suspension all done at that time. Upper half of the engine and the transmission have been rebuilt. This is a high quality driver, not restored to original like new condition. There is a good balance of original and new where one could drive and enjoy the car and be proud to show it off at the same time. It is not a top-flight car, but like anything else with time and money it could be. I have a very thick stack of receipts and paperwork.

Engine, intake manifold, heads, valve covers, exhaust manifolds, transmission, radiator, alternator, side and rear glass are numbers matching/correct. I'm sure there are other original/correct parts that I have not listed.

Holley 4160 750cfm carb converted to 4150 and rebuilt last year. Carb was then tuned with a wide-band 02 sensor to run near stoich at cruise and part throttle.

Points distributor that came in the car when I bought it is a 1112051 from a BB, maybe it was put in from the factory, I doubt it, but possible. I installed an HEI distributor but still have the points distributor.

The frame and birdcage are beautiful.

I have partially documented the car. I have the shipping report from NCRS, sold new at United Chevrolet in Worcester, MA. It appears to have lived in MA it's whole life (up until I bought it and brought it to NY). I have ownership information from 1990 to present. I do not have a tank sticker, documents from the selling dealer or owner information prior to 1990.

Within the last year I have rebuilt the carb, installed HEI distributor, replaced plugs and wires, replaced valve cover gaskets, restored the exhaust manifolds, changed coolant, replaced thermostat, replaced fuel and air filters, performed oil changes, replaced the front wheel bearings, replaced the front calipers, replaced all 4 rotors and brake pads, installed stainless brake hoses, replaced all 4 tires, adjusted the valves (correctly!), had the paint ceramic coated, and more.

This car runs and drives wonderfully. I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere. You could show the car, you could drive the car, you could simply enjoy the car.

The car was appraised for $40,000.
I am asking $35,000.

I am open to trades towards any Corvette. Either even trade, or trade plus cash on either end.

If you have any questions please email me at n8chandler@gmail.com. Thank you!

I just want to say that I really enjoy your pictures. Great locations, settings, etc... It shows that this car is more than just a "show" car sitting next to so many other Corvettes in a parking lot being judged. These look like photos that say "I am ready for a cruise, let's go".

Good Luck

Thank you. I bought this car to drive, which isnt much, but she's ready for the long haul.

A couple people have asked if I have the ignition shielding. Yes, I have the shields, the top shield does not fit around the HEI distributor. I have both the points dist. and the shielding.

Beautiful car- I have never seen an older Stingray with the original exhaust manifolds. I guess since Everyone, including myself have installed headers it truly is a rarity.

Your price is very good. If I did not have too many cars, I would buy her for for myself.
