I love these cars too. I also have one of the largest, if not the single largest collection of Motion Performance memorabilia on the planet. One other collection I know of is larger. Being said, if Joel doesn't sign off the car, these anecdotal stories while are good for story sharing, really don't hold much weight. I want nothing more than for this thing to be real but if it were, and if it were blessed/signed off on, one of the collectors into the BM and MP cars would have ****** it up in a heartbeat.

Well, the NCRS shipper report does say Baldwin. That's pretty solid. The car has been around a very long time. For it to be a "clone" the cloner would have had to known it was a Baldwin invoiced car. That would have been long before the NCRS provided this service. And without the tank sticker (which I didn't see) and other factory paperwork, that would have been hard to determine if not impossible.
Prior to the 1970s CARS magazines nobody really knew of this car until it was shown again in the April 1992 Vette article about the GT cars. The car matches in most every way with the only mistake being the most recent way the car was painted (the stripe shape) and no headlight covers. For someone to have made up this car with the few available pictures of the car and get most of the details correct is not impossible, but unlikely. And when the car was "reintroduced" it was not painted gold.
Baldwin Motion Motors didn't endure. Cool car no less. Looks like a Datsun 240z with those headlight covers.
I know that I'm quoting an old post, here, but hopefully, people realized that it was the EPA, who issued a "cease and desist" order, that shut down Motion Motors, right?? Motion Motors was taking brand new, smog compliant Chevrolets, and modifying them for higher levels of performance, and in many cases, disabling the smog equipment in the process, then still selling them as "new cars", through Baldwin Chevrolet. The Government didn't like that....
Worth a hell of a lot more than 75k! Id insure it and drive the wheels off that thing..
Surprised "real" C3 buffs talk smack about an iconic car like this. Maybe 190hp is enough for some.

i believe it sold last year at mecum for 105k. I was looking at it as it was waiting in line before entering the auction building. I was surprised it went so low. i bet the guy bought it low and is just reselling it.
It is well known in the MP/BM circles that this Corvette has paperwork issues. There is good reason why a 1-10 Phase III GT Corvette only brought $105k at recently auction and not $500k+ like most others would bring. Key for all BM/MP cars is paperwork. Without Rosen's sign off, it is just a figment of imagination.
I am building my 69 as a motion tribute, taking the pieces I like. I like the reverse gills, the hood, paint scheme. I don’t care for the GT front end or scoops behind the doors. Besides mine is a convertible which I dont think he ever did?? Wondering if anyone knows if anyone makes some of the stickers and trim used in motion cars? Some people are purists, some like to create their own vision and others like to blend. Great thing about building cars!! Also couple of questions for people who have seen these cars or mock ups of them. How wide should the back stripe be? I’m thinking of putting the ‘427’ on the rear quarters like the phase III. Also got a motion hood from a woman in Long Island who had it on her 71. She said her husband bought it local in 71 or 72 and had it on the car since. She put the original hood back on when selling. I know and dont care much if it is an original motion hood but wondering if the front of the scoop was/should be open? I’ve seen pictures of both. I’mn Thinking if I keep it closed cowl induction would work better and keep debris out of air filter/engine bay. Thoughts?
