1978 Indy Pace Car L82 (NJ)
After 22 years, it's time to sell my 78 Indy Pace Car. Number 1122. Numbers matching. 43,000 miles. Purchased with 30,000 in 1995 from the third owner. L82 Auto AM/FM CB. Located in Bridgewater, NJ.
- SS sleeved brake calipers from VBP
- Fiberglass rear spring
- rear wheel bearings in 2016
- radiator and water pump replaced in 1995
- power steering replaced
- greaseable U joints on half shafts and drive shafts
- Red Line synthetic throughout
- interior replaced/refurbished 16 years ago. Foil sound proof insulation installed. Refurb seat belts from Snake Oyl.
In the spirit of full transparency, the decal between the black and silver on the body was painted on by the second owner. AIR pump and cat converter were removed in the past. Antennae was refurbished by a forum member a couple of years ago but is currently not working. A/C needs a recharge. Rear main seal has slight oil drip. Do not have the original decals. Mirrored T tops are correct but not original.
Asking $12,500. Paying to store it at a car club so time for it to go (and son just turned 16). Contact at tbrown4849@gmail.com

Bumping this for a really great seller. I inquired on this car but had to pass for a few reasons unrelated to the pace car. Seller was very honest and had taken time to send some very good photos.

Very tempting.
I'm moving back to New Jersey soon. What are the emissions rules for the situation above?
AIR pump and cat converter were removed

Really nice looking car for a very fair price but I've got too many corvettes already.

Thought I had sold it to a nice gentleman from OH. Turns out not to be the case. Maybe I'm too trusting. Needless to say the Pace Car is still available.

Beautiful car! Always wanted a 78 PC..with a second kid heading to college not the best time! LOL! Have my boat up for sale..long shot but never hurts to ask. I would trade you with my 1993 Baja 260..@530 hours on the boat with 30 hours on a new engine ( no trailer). If not best of luck with the sale!

I just looked at a pace car here in Oklahoma. Just from the photos I can tell it's not as nice as yours. Don't be surprised if I contact you when I'm back in NJ.
If you haven't sold it by then of course.
