1973 L82 Convertible, Multiple Top Flight, **Update**
Update---pretty cool story, car is SOLD!! See below.
This car belongs to a good friend of mine that passed away this past May. I am helping his widow sell a few cars in his collection. I discussed this with the moderator (Vettebuyer6369). I will be responsible for all questions, inspections or disputes with the sell of this car.
1973 Convertible, original 56k mile car, well optioned.
Metallic Yellow/Black Leather Deluxe Interior, white soft top
L82
M21 4 Speed
C60 Air Conditioning
J50 Power Brakes
N40 Power Steering
N37 Tilt-Telescopic Steering
C07 Aux Hard Top
U58 AM/FM Stereo
P02 Deluxe Wheel Covers
Multiple Regional and Chapter Top Flights. Last Top Flight was in 2/22/2008 and scored a 97.
The original build sheet has been removed off the tank and is still in "ok" shape. The paint is assumed to be original and interior is original. It looks as if the nose has been repainted. All chrome is in very good shape. Soft top and hard top are in great shape. The car drives excellent, very tight. This might be an excellent candidate for Duntov judging.
Car is located in Birmingham, AL. and can be inspected. Please let me know if you need additional pictures or information.

You can stick to your 38,000 than the sale will need a few more months, if you lower it a bit, the interest will appreciate.
Remember usually the years 68-72 are most wanted, on the other side 73 is a very special one year only.
Post it on other venues and you will find out...

Hi CG,
"I would greatly appreciate your opinions."
My opinion:
It looks like a very nice car.
It's true that some folks REALLY like 73 cars, AND this one has a LOT going for it being an L-82, 4-speed, a/c, convertible. But, some people just aren't interested in them at all.
At $38,000 you're in the price territory of a 71-72 convertible that's not quite as nice, but would probably attractive to a little wider market.
So, I think you need to wait for the 73 convertible 'lover' to come along (who has that much money), or you could begin to lower the price a bit to see if that would be enough to convince someone to contact you.
People are certainly buying nice 68-73 Corvettes, but $38,000 is a lot of money to many folks.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan

This looks like a great car, and if I'd have found it when I was looking, I certainly would have been interested. As the previous poster said, 73 is a special year but not everyone appreciates that. I personally like the metallic yellow a lot, but it is not nearly as broadly appealing as red, blue or silver. And yes, even vintage Corvette buyers need to think about resale. As a buyer, I would be very interested in whether the AC operates correctly and blows cold air -- if not, that's an expensive system to fix especially with originality in mind, and the price would need to adjust accordingly.
Good luck with the sale!

Sorry about the pictures, I am not sure what the problem is, but I think I made it way worse. The car is still available. Thanks for all the input and advise.

Gentlemen, pretty neat story on the sale of this car. I had a gentlemen call me believing this was his original car. He explained once he got back from Vietnam he wanted a Corvette pretty bad and went to the local Chevy dealership to purchase one. He bought a 1973 convertible that was on the show room floor at Bob Mckinnon Chevrolet in New Orleans, LA. Being such a odd color and option, he believed the car I had listed was his car. He asked me where the car was sold, I sent him the tank sticker showing it was shipped to Bob Mckinnon in New Orleans. He asked me to look under the driver side front fender to see if there was any repair work, he explained one of the Firestone 500s blew and cracked some of the under fender well. After further inspection, I could see there was some repair work, no doubt this was his car. Needless to say, he made the trip to Alabama to inspect the car, he said it was like seeing an old friend. A deal was made that was fair to both he and the owner and the car will be headed to Tennessee shortly. Really neat to see a car go back to its original owner.
I appreciate all the advice you guys gave on the forum, what a great resource.

Hi CG,
There are often threads started by someone looking for their old car.
But I'm not sure how many folks actually find it.
For the original owner to find this car, have it be in this CONDITION, and be able to actually make a deal which everyone was pleased with, has to be quite remarkable!
I'll bet you feel very good about being part of this!
Regards,
Alan
