in a lot of cases when a frame is rusted or rotted to the point of replacing it
things that also have rust issues besides the frame are the bird cage, top window frame and door channels.
may or may not be the case in this one . GLWS

Hi,
Since the question of the condition of the birdcage has been brought up it might help the sale of the car to take the time to remove the kick panels and access plates so those areas of the hinge pillars and lock pillars can be seen and photographed.

I think it would be likely that a serious buyer would ask for that as part of his inspection of the car.

Regards,
Alan

Thanks LT-1. I talked to the mechanic who restored this car. There was no problem with the birdcage or door channels when he did the body off restoration. He also said the hinge pillars and the lock pillars were fine then as well. The car has been stored in a heated garage since the restoration and seen neither snow or rain since then so I don't think it's rust issue has progressed.

Did you replace the frame with a 72 frame? Was the framed replaced with a NOS replacement frame?
Thanks,
Nelson

Nelson, the new frame was NOS but it was a 73 frame rather than a 72.
Thanks, Tom

Hey all!! I bought this car from Tom!! It is truly an incredible car and Tom was great to work with! It was even better than advertised. Truly a great find and he kept great care of this car for 45+ years. A friend who helped with this purchase has had 10 vintage corvettes and he has never seen one in this good of condition or that drives and has as smooth an engine as this one.
I may may have outdone myself for my first corvette.

Default I Bought it!!!

All - I bought this Vette from Tom!!! Everything as advertised and more!! I may have spoiled myself with my first corvette purchase however. Tom was great to work with and made this sale super easy. My buddy here in AL who has owned 10 vintage corvettes said he has never seen one in this good of condition. Looks and drives like a dream.
