Default '74 Convertible Barn Find

Rare L82 Muncie Close Ratio 4 Speed well optioned. A/C, PW, PS, PB, Leather Tilt/Telescopic steering. Drove into 2nd story of barn in 1986, inside dry storage since. Unusual brown 1974 only color. Unusual to see a fully optioned convertible with performance engine and transmission, color is only one of two convertibles I have seen.

Replaced front and rear bumper covers and removed carpets. The bumber covers had dried out and crumbled to the touch. Carpets were moldy. Serial number is 1Z67T4S407426 it is an all original car same family ownership since 1977. Inspections welcome. $8,000

$8,000.

I see the signs of critter nests in the rear cross member, boy do I remember those days. Nice start for a project car. Mileage is 49,783.
Why did you remove the carpet? Was it stained? Moldy? Critters?

And why did you both with the front and rear bumper addition? The car would have to be fully restored from what I see in the pictures. Were you going to restore it and changed your mind?

To get your sale I would offer please post numbers matching information from the block/a-pillar/transmission/rear end/frame; as well as confirmation of birdcage being free of anything more than surface rust. Maybe pull those kick panels showing the #2 body mount bolt area to confirm they are clean in there and not full of rust. Wish my stable wasn't full right now, I would have at least driven up to look at it.

Good luck with your sale. The more data, the more likely you will sell it. A little too rich for me at $8,000 but let me know if you are negotiable on the price. I never want to insult someone with a low offer but with the market today and costs to restore I might be interested if it were much lower.

Thank you and again, good luck with your sale.

Best regards,

David Howard

Thanks for the feedback, I have updated the posts with a few of your suggestions. The car is in upstate NY were my family is from, I am in Kentucky difficult for me to take anymore pictures and our preference is for the buyer to inspect. It's in a garage with a lift. I haven't seen any critters, but we got the trailer stuck pulling it out and the tractor threw up some mud underneath the undercarriage, there was a clump of grass and mud???

My brother and I have the '74 convertible and a '68 convertible, the '68 has closer ties to our Dad so that's the one we're restoring. Thanks again.
