Pinion seal leak is fixed. Seal was replaced and splines were coated with permatex to prevent oil from pushing back through the splines as well.

Nice car. My next purchase is going to be a 69 or 70. I love yours. I am at the end of my 65' restore. I will be in the market for a C3 sometime next year.

Truer words were never spoken, but many times here on CF C3
people say the TRUE words... "Buy the best car you can afford."
So you buy that $11k '68 vert that's been sitting...
And probably not drive it half the time, because there's a leak or broken brakes or something. Another $1800 here, $600 there...

THE GOOD NEWS ON THE OP's CAR LIKE THIS? YOU can Get a Loan, and Justify it, you will be using the machine.

I agree. It is more cost effective if you purchase a correctly restored Corvette off the bat vs restoring one yourself; been through it. Unless, of course, its your business and you are performing the work yourself and you don't have to pay the high restoration costs.

Hi Bill,
Is Jimmy Cone still open?
Good place to stop…. it would likely draw more than a few admirers!
Regards,
Alan

Might be. Great idea! Thank you.

I did have one guy stop me Sunday when out in the Corvette with my bride.

Asking too much? Not at all, most C-3 guys know the cost of bringing a#'s C-3 1970 roadster to your quality will cost $$$. 1970+++,roadster++++,4sp +++,350/350+++. You have the best year for C-3's. with great drive train options. Great color as well. I've owned 5 '70-72 c-3's. Only 1 L-48 roadster in the past. Easily my favorite. Small block is BY FAR the best driver. My '70 LS-5 coupe was O.K. for the wow factor but a real pig to drive, hot, poor gas mileage and nose heavy. I would add a deluxe interior and a tilt wheel if it were mine. Good luck!

No need to rebuild a flawlessly running engine. No tapping, no smoke and runs perfect. Excellent oil pressure as well.

I did replace the timing chain with a cloyes roller chain. Oil pan was spotless inside. Also had the harmonic balancer redone since it was removed.

I pulled the intake and the top end was just as clean as the oil pan. Intake was bead blasted. Before reassembly we pulled off the pan on the under side of the intake to make sure no beads could hide and cause damage down the road. Then the pan was riveted back in place.

Took her out yesterday on a very chilly day. She started right up. No smoke, no tapping, kicked down as new from high idle and idles like brand new.

Even took her up to 5000 rpm, once warmed up yesterday, and she does not miss a beat. It was a blast!

Thank you for asking.

Kind Regards,

Bill

70 LT1 is a really nice Corvette.

Mine is likely going back up far sale now that winter is over. I am in the process of putting on a new top and correcting a few minor things to better meet NCRS specifications. I am really hoping o have her judged as I am pretty sure she will top flight at the local level.

All the best in your search.
