Want To Find: Donny Boy 1970 LT-1
Does anyone know who purchased this LT-1 or who currently owns the car? I gave Donny Boy his name, regrettably sold, and would like to attempt to get him back.
Thank you for any help you can offer.

Wish you the best of luck in acquiring the car back, if in fact you can make that transaction happen...
Keep us posted on your progress ...I will keep my eye out for it and an ear open.....Slim chance, but will do.....

Donny Boy
i appreciate the eyes and ears.
I sold Donny Boy a couple years prior to the auction to a private party.
Of course, the car is not an M22 per the write up.
Has the M20 wide ratio which is a great match to the 3:55 rear.

Sotheby contacted the buyer and assumed current owner. No response.
Observed many times—when you don’t want to sell your car there is a buyer. When you do, you are told no one will pay your price.
Thx for the help.

It looks like the car has been sold here.

Midyrman - Not sure if that is your auction since I thought you said Sotheby! I hope this might help you. Maybe they will have some other owner info. Not too much info on Donny Boy when I do a Google search.
I hope some rich third world country person didn't buy it and doesn't appreciate what he has!

Guys, I removed a slew of posts from several members that included personal conflict and other posts unrelated to the OP finding the specific car he regrettably sold and wants back. These posts derailed the focus of this thread.
Lots of people are trying to be helpful which is great, but let’s focus on helping Midyrman find Donny Boy.

Thank you all
I appreciate everyone’s help. We all share the same passion. Unfortunately I let one go a few years ago that I shouldn’t have. Of all the C2s and C3s I’ve owned and ultimately sold, this one is most regrettable. So, I am or was looking only for this car.
Apparently the current owner is not interested in selling since he has not responded to Sotheby’s letter expressing my interest in the car.

Sorry for your loss. It would be nice if the buyer at least responded and gave you a chance to buy it back. I will be watching the auctions and if it resurfaces, I will let you know. Best of luck.

I hope it works out for you someday. A long time previous owner of a 69 I owned for 10 years tracked me down and wanted to buy the car back. I wasn’t looking to sell it but he wanted it back so badly I couldn’t refuse. There are a few cars I would buy back if I ever found them so I understood how he felt.

Tom,
Good luck in your search. I sold my '70 LS5 five years ago to Mitch who luckily also lives in Boca Raton. I regretted it after selling it, and then he contacted me this January, and I was able to buy it back. There's nothing like a DonnyBrook Green convertible.
Good luck,
Steve

Yes, Donnybrook Green is a terrific color, particularly on a convertible. Your LS5 looks great
