1970 454/390 Convertible
SOLD SOLD SOLD
I have owned this car for 5 years now and had planned on doing a NCRS restoration on it, but with having moved 2 times in the last 3 years and with the possibility of moving again while at the same time trying to complete another restoration, I've decided to sale the car.
The car was originally purchased by an engineer who lived in Mass. and was used as a second car. The second owner, who I bought it from, owned the car for over 35 years. He was from New Hampshire and drove the car only in the summers and stored it in the winter.
The car was built on 1/19/1970 and is Monza Red with a bright red interior. It was originally ordered with power steering, wide ratio M-20 transmission, manual brakes, AM/FM radio, Alarm and hard top. The car is has a numbers matching drive train, engine, transmission, differential. It has never been restored, but was repainted in the early 80's and has had the seats recovered, new convertible top and carpet replaced at some point.
The alternator, master cylinder, carburetor and rear antenna are not original to the car. The carburetor on the car is dated June of 1970, so it may have been replaced under warranty. The radiator retains it's original tanks, but the core was replaced at some point. The hard top is in very good shape including the liner.
Since I've owned the car it has been driven sparingly, but started often. The brake lines and power steering pump are leaking.
Finding a good C3 worthy of a restoration is difficult, let alone finding a 1970 and big block convertible.
I'm asking $27,500

The frame has surface rust on it most everywhere. The cross support that runs between the frame rails in front, I call it a bat wing, has a hole rusted in one end, which is very typical. No accidents since I've owned it. Not aware of any from previous owners.
