NOTE: I am posting this for my friend (Tom B.) who lives a mile from me. He is nearing 80 years old, healthy, but did not want to attempt crafting an ad. My role is as follows: I compiled the ad and respond to all questions and requests. After driving it, I was impressed. I have owned several Vette's, numerous sports cars, and have restored 7 cars. I am here to give immediate response to buyer questions during the pre-sales process. What I cannot answer I will relay to Tom and he will be more than willing to speak to a you by phone in a timely fashion. He is available to show the car personally at his home where the car has always been. I have no personal gain in this sale whatsoever, and will participate in any post-sales issues. Just trying to help out a good friend with a nice solid car.

$21,000.00 FIRM

So, you personally have owned this car the last 18 years?

The owner is a good friend of mine and lives a mile away. He is approaching 80 years old and does not have the computer skills any longer to actually post an ad. HE has owned the car for 18 years. His identity and phone number can be provided and he is here to answer questions that I may not be able to. If that's a problem I can post elsewhere.

The forum has specific rules for selling for other people, including disclosing that fact. Please review the rules for this below and add to your thread the details as requested:

Site users sometimes list Corvettes for a friend or relative who is unable to market and sell the car for themselves for some legitimate reason.

We tried a revision to the rules to allow those listings to take place without the need to get prior approval from an administrator so long as the threads disclosed the circumstances of the nominee sale and stated the role they would play in resolving any post-sale disputes.

It hasn’t worked as it has created a proliferation of people offering Corvettes for sale for a friend or relative who declare they will take no responsibility in resolving post-sale disputes. That’s potentially harmful to site users, so we are reverting to some of the previous language.

Going forward, those listing cars or parts they do not personally own must make this clear in their sales thread, posting:

* The circumstances regarding why the owner is not listing the car
* The role the thread starter will play in the sale
* And agreeing to participate in trying to resolve any post-sale issues.
Threads failing to address those points will be removed by moderators.

Potential buyers should be aware of who the actual owner of the car or parts is and who would be responsible for potential disputes before proceeding with a purchase.

I will assume my addition in the section titled "NOTE" will satisfy all of that.

Beautiful car! Must go like stink on you know what.

Question: why change from disks to drums on the rear? Do the drums stop the car better?

Correction: Disc brakes all around. Yes, I drove in it and it pulls like a freight train.
