Default 1972 Road Race Replica

Car is not yet finished, I estimate it to be 90% complete. I just don't have the energy to finish it right now due to nagging health issues. Looking for serious buyers only please. Details provided on the car to any that want it. Build thread is available on the CF if you would like to see what all was performed on the car. I have much too much money invested in it but just looking for a new home for it.

496 Cu. In.; 565 HP Gen VI Chevrolet Engine installed, run, not broken in yet.
Rack Attack Rack and Pinion Steering installed.
Hydro Boost Assist system installed.
Vintage Auto Air serpentine system installed.
Vintage Auto Air Gen IV A/C system Installed.
Tremec TKO 600 Five Speed transmission installed.
V,B & P Slalom suspension with 550 lb front springs; heavy duty sway bar; 360 lb composite rear springs; VBP strut system; all installed.
Bair's Corvette 3.37 HD rear differential with new HD yokes.
Bair's rebuilt offset trailing arms.
New stainless sleeved brake calipers throughout.
Completely restored frame.
New fuel and brake lines installed and bled.
Holly Terminator EFI system installed.
Hooker Super Comp headers and side pipes installed.
New restored Western Hurricane wheels front and back. Front are 8-1/2" X 15". Rears are 10" X 15".
Mickey Thompson Street and Strip Tires - 245/70-15 up front; 295/50-15 out back.
Have second set of rear wheels and tires that go with the package. 10" X 15" with 295/50-15's.
Interior is all here, not yet installed. Gauges installed. Left dash installed.
Seats are Fiero GT seats with new Mr. Mikes Covers. Covers have not been installed yet.
Have five point seat harness for seat belts, not yet installed.
Have all carpeting, door panels, rear compartment, door cranks, all finished in black theme.
Rear window is removable, still need to install the rear window gasket.
I have many emblems that can be used on the car, or not, your option.
This car is wrapped with 3M Vinyl Red, over 3M Vinyl White. Original car is black gloss.

I have a lot of time and money invested in it; time for someone else to finish it. Please note this is a street legal auto you can drive to shows or drive about town. I have incorporated as many current safety features in this car as possible matching today's technologies with a C-3 structure. This car will have serious muscle and it will get you to Church on Sunday quickly. It is loud; it is fast; and it will be fun for someone; but not everyone. Not for the faint of heart.

Everything is here to finish this car and all of it comes with the purchase of the car. You will have no surprises with this one.

Asking $35,000 firm. Sale is "As Is, Where Is".

Build Thread Can Be Found Here.

Thank you for looking.

David Howard

The front nose of this car is custom. It was built from a 1966 Corvette with modifications to fit the flow of the front end. I was incorporating 1968 front turn signals and have them here, have not installed them yet.
The rear end is custom as well and clears the frame when installed and removed. Previous rear end picture was fuzzy so I am posting another view.
Ask away, I am certain to be missing things to tell you about the car.

If only my ‘69 sells... I’d love to have this in my garage.

Wow David,
Don't do it!!!!!

But if you must, I am interested

What level of drivability does the car have as it sits now?
Can it drive around the block?
What more is needed to get it to final tune for street driving?

Thanks so much
Glenn in San Diego

To answer Glenn's questions, here are some answers.

1) Connect the steering linkage.
2) Install the remote power steering reservoir.
3) Install the hydraulic clutch reservoir.
4) Fill radiator with fluid.
5) Put fuel in the tank.
6) Hook up battery.
7) Put a seat in it.
NOTE: Engine has been run but has not been broken-in for seals. You could drive it around the block after hooking up all noted above but it is recommended that the engine be broken in and seals seated before doing so. Once engine is broken in, good to go.
8) Fire it up.
9) Drive it around the block.

It needs more than that but this answers your question about status.
David

Dang David I did not see this coming but understand. Sorry I could not get it to the finish line for you. Anyone who has any questions on this car, I have done a lot to it and know it very well. You will be getting a lot of car for the money. This car needs a good home.

It needs more than that to do anything more than a drive around the block Glen, but I might be able to get items 1-9 done in October if I can do so. I wills see if Gordon can help me get it that far anyway.

Damn, great seller and a beautiful car. David, if I can assist you with any help, would be more than happy after all you do on this board for others. Love this build!!

Pictures are accurate. Hood pin installation remains. Hooking up headlights remains. Installing turn signal lights up front (I have everything) is custom and not finished. I am glad to detail what needs to be completed and a complete list of items on the car and items coming with the car will be provided. I have a 6" stack of receipts as well. If the car were completed it would not be selling for the current asking price. If I finish it I won't be selling it any time soon.

I pride myself on accuracy and this car and sale will be no different.

So if anyone has any questions about current condition, status, build plan, etc. please let me know. I don't need to sell it and I am looking for a good home for the car.

Thank you and best regards,

David Howard
I'm confused... still for sale? Beautiful build BTW!
