1978 Anniversary Edition Low Miles, Manual, black leather AC in Connecticut
I've owned this 78 corvette for about 5 years and it's time to send it off to a new owner because I have other interests. With about 48K original miles, this corvette spent the last 25 years being a garage queen on the east coast, and years before that in Dry California. With the exception of some pimples on the frame, the car is rust free. I've got a bunch of documentation from the last owner including some official looking paperwork that says it's a real Anniversary Edition.
The paint is excellent but is about 15 years old. It has one crack adjacent to one of the tail lights. The AE graphics (vinyl pin stripes) show a small defect just behind the passenger door. The car looks and shows very well on it's exterior. The headlights, tail lights, etc, all work the way they should.
In the interior, the original black leather is free from tears. The drivers seat functions properly but the passenger seat tilt forward button is stuck so it does not tilt. The carpet was replaced but I think the remainder of the interior is original. There is a cracked area on the drivers side dash board and the door pulls need attention. On the 2014 Hot Rod power tour, I found out that the t-tops leak in the rain. This is the only time this car has seen inclement weather in the time I've owned it. I had the AC repaired and charged before the trip. It still worked well last summer. The only issue with heat/AC is the valve that blocks off coolant flow while in AC mode. For now, it is either in heat or AC mode manually. After 3400 miles on that trip, the car ran flawlessly, didn't burn any oil, and churned out an average of 14 mpg.
As for the drivetrain and running gear, there are a few minor things that need attention. the right front caliper, the valve cover gasket, and the radiator all have a small leak. The choke doesn't work quite right or maybe the adjustment is a little off. Other than that, It has the low compression 350, 4 speed manual trans, and a 3.31 posi rear. The Engine, Trans, Rear, Brakes, and steering work as they should. This car can be driven to your home today.
PM me with your cell phone # if you are a serious buyer and want additional pictures or questions answered. I currently have the car stored on a 4 post lift in my garage so if you want to come by and inspect it personally you can do that. I will not let you test drive it if the roads are salty like they are right now. The car is too good for that. The car is located Just east of New Haven Connecticut.
Motivated seller listing it at $9500 or BRO. Don't look at the price and determine this is junk. It is not. Please don't waste your time or mine if you are not serious. Get yourself a great Corvette needing a small amount of TLC for the same price as rusted out junk listed on an auction web site. I will only accept cash at time of sale.
