71 Roadster restomod. 383 5 Spd. $22k,
Sold!
The time has finally come to sell my 71 convertible. I just don't drive it anymore. less then 5k on 383 described below. Runs like a top. will let original 350 go with car (burned oil when pulled 15 years ago) and many other parts I have about. nearly every element has been worked on. No small feat or cheap for these old cars. Cleaned/replace/improved.
Custom roll bar welded to frame (no interference with top). Fast and solid, starts every time 10ft paint job (but thats the way I like it. Vettes chip easy!). Runs great, taken on many long road trips. Just dont drive it any more. Soft top with a couple of small sewn up tears but good clear vinyl, hardware works well - I rarely used it. If ad is up still available. Serious inquiries only. Receipts for most everything. Was a regular poster to the forum 10 years ago.
I have probably $30k into the car plus cost of car when I bought it in LA in 1999. Now in San Francisco east Bay Area.
asking $22k

saw this on the bay area craigslist. It looks fantastic and would love to drop by and examine it as well as drive it to see if it matches what i've been looking for in a c3, although one thing mentioned in the CL ad but not here is cash on hand is required to drive it

Hi All
the car is still available. Will be posting to Autotrader classics soon. Craigslist seems to be mostly about looky-loo types.
To answer a few of the questions, the soft top is black. Its not in bad shape but it is not water tight (I doubt any soft top is!) and has some minor tears I have sewn up. The vinyl is soft and clear and not faded. The roll bar does not interfere with anything. It is welded directly to the frame but does not meet requirements to get the car on a race track in california. I only ever autocrossed the car.
It does not have air conditioning.
The cash in hand is the requirement to drive it. The car can get loose easily if not experienced and dont want to let an amateur wreck my car! Rides are free though and nothing is funner than listening to the exhaust as I tear through the canyons!
