I've found the best way is to just sit there and look cool until everyone leaves! Either that or I concentrate my azz off to get a good plant with my left foot. Exiting a C4 has a way of showing everyone your age unless you plan ahead. I've got it down pretty good, just got to think about it ahead of time.

Try putting double sided tape on the underside of the sill covers instead of screwing them down. 3 or 4 long pieces on each one works fine. Mine have been on that way for 4 years and havent moved.

I have found the best thing about getting in or out is not to be in a hurry. I just take my time, and ease my way in or out. When your my age you have to think smarter, not work harder. Having lower back problems will also slow you down. Nothing worse than a pinched and irritated nerve. Ouch.

Default ...in and out of a c4.....

When sitting in the seat, turn so that both feet are square on the ground before you try and lift yourself. Then just stand straight up (remember the tip from corvetteronw). When getting in, turn your hips to the side, bend both your knees and hips so that you butt lands on the seat before either of your feet leave the ground.

There is a little 'finese' to this, but everybody's body is a little different, so you will have to adjust accordingly.
that is exactly the way i get out of the car........turn 90 deg, put both both feet flat on the ground, and stand up........just two motions....

It's tricky till you get the hang of it. This it how I do it ...
Roll, turn, and try not to fall.

I'm 6'2", 240.

I put my left foot on the ground, and left hand on the door sill. Use the left hand to push my fat **** out of the car.

I just plop in the seat and thread my legs in. At 5'11 and 175lbs., I have no problems getting in and out. Us C4 owners literally put our cars on when we get in them!

Default in/out of C4

I'm 6'1" @ 275 lbs. and use the Fozzy Bear method with a few extras. Going in, I sit and slide all the way in before turning 90 degrees. Right knee with bent leg first then left foot first, left knee last. Don't abuse the console lid. Getting out, left knee first then right foot follows while beginning 90 degree turn. Right hand on side of windshield frame. When I turn, I put my right toe under the open door frame to help with pulling forward and staying low I kind of spin my *** mostly onto the door sill. Then stand up.

I'm 64 and have two new hips.. I don't complain about anything anymore because they work so well.. I put my right foot in, my left hand on the sill, my right on the thickly padded console lid or pax seat, hold my **** off the seat , get my left leg in and sit down. This worked when my hips were bad and its a habit now. Getting out, I pivot left in the seat, pulling my legs up together and slide my feet out over the sill and gettem on the ground and stand straight up.

Like someone said earlier, its a worthwile ritual getting in because its a blast to drive. Getting into some fighter cockpits and the Apache helicopter front seat aren't easy either, but you can't match the ensuing experience at all.

There is only one way to get out as far as i am concerned...and you won't get finger prints all over the windshield...

plant your left foot on the ground, put your left hand on the door sill near the seat belt, place your right foot on the tranny tunnel and push with your right leg.

pop, you're out....and it works for the passenger too (unless they're in a short skirt )

I too enjoy getting into the cockpit. Anyways, getting out is a little tricky, I rely heavily on the door sill. To get in, I just line up and drop!

Rick, being a big man as you are definitely makes it a challenge. I'm 6'3" as well, but a mere 225 lbs. A piece of cake for me though, in & out in a half second.
