trans removal tips?
i will be pulling my tranny out soon to fix the overdrive and was wondering if anyone might know of a trick or two to make things easier to get it out of my car.i have an 84 with the 4+3.

It's rather easy... just lotsa bolts.
You will want a tranny jack to help support the weight.
Do you have the Helms Manual? www.helminc.com - They provide the factory service manuals for GM. It is all but required.

The object is to get the car as high as possible without a danger of it falling on you.
When you used 2 ramps on the front you didn't block the rear wheels and set the hand brake.

guess i should refine my question.i was hoping someone new of any safe shortcuts i might use to cut my down time some?i.e. not completely taking out the c-beam,leaving the back half of the exhaust things like that.thanks for any help.
