Hey everyone!
finally reached the "it's time to buy a Corvette" point in life. I'm looking at a 94 with 105k on it right now. I've never owned a car with over 100k miles on before so I'm a little worried about buying anything with that many miles but it fits the year I want and the budget. (next promotion bigger budget!) It's been well maintained with records and is clean and tight. what kind of experiences has anyone had with high mile vettes out there and what should i be looking for?
Welcome to the forum
I cannot comment on the lt-1 cars because I don't own one. You will get lost of good advise. The c-4 vette is not much different than any other high milage car. If taken care of, they will give many miles. I have 268k on mine. Very little issues with car. My problems occur as a result of drag racing. Good luck
If the car has ben cared for those miles should not be a concern. Having the maintenance and work records are a +. Getting as much information on the cars past is a big help you should be able to tell if it has ben pounded or abused try to find some one who is knowledgeable about vetts and let them give it a look see. Check out some other cars shopping for a vette is a blast. Good luck

Welcome and congrats on your upcoming purchase, whatever it is. My '95 is at 111K miles, is modded all to hell and gets the crap run out of out at times (raced) but is still reliable. My friend has a modded '94 that he's had since it was almost new. Ported LT4 heads, etc. and it has over 260K miles on it. It is his only car. The bottom end has never been touched.
Welcome to the Forum A high mileage Corvette with well taken care of miles is a much better buy than a low mileage garage queen. The money you save on the initial purchase can be used for any wear and tear type repairs which will probably yield a Corvette in much better overall condition than the low mileage Corvette. The low mileage car will have many dry rot related problems which can run serious $$ and in addition you will still eventually have the wear and tear repairs. The drivetrain on the Corvette is virtually bulletproof. SB Chevy 350 engines can easily make it to 200,000 miles with regular fluid and filter changes with only minor repairs along the way. They just keep going and going and going. Just my $.02 and good luck with your search
Welcome aboard! I too had the same fear about buying a high mileage Vette and the one I ended up with had just turned 100k and it still drives as if it were new! Don't let the high miles scare you, as was said to me, and it is my now my honor to pass this gem on to you, AT 100K ITS JUST GETTIN' BROKEN IN!
I've looked at everthing from '72 and up and am kinda settling into the early mid '90s. Boy was that '77 hard to get out of! Love the older cars but they're turning more and more into museum pieces and that's not what I really want with my first one.
glad to hear the engines hold up to the high miles. takes some of the concern off the process. they're asking $9500 for the '94 I'm looking at, how's that sound? I'm driving it Weds but it looks fantastic in all the pics they've emailed. Honestly has had 2 older owners with no hotrodding in it at all.
