Default LT1 Pistons?

What kind of pistons are in a 94 corvette. are they hyper, or cast or what. also will they be able to take a vortech supercharger at 6 lbs of boost.

I think they are Hyper, but I'm not sure. Maybe ask the question in the Forced Induction/Nitrous forum.

I do believe they are hyper. They will take 6 psi or nitrous as long as you have a good tune!!! A buddy of mine ran nearly 70,000 miles in his supercharged Mustang with stock hyper pistons before blowing it up by putting a smaller pulley on the blower. He was looking for an excuse to put in a different motor.

Just a little warning. If your short block has over 70K on it, you may not want to go forced induction. Many guys here have gone with heads and cam upgrades and spun a bearing or two shortly after the upgrade. Have you looked at the ProCharger?

They are hypereutectic. They will handle 6 lbs of boost, but w/o any detonation. You have to make sure your tune is precise because if you experience detonation your pistons may crack and ruin the engine.
