Default New Wheels

Before and After pics of my Vette with new Chrome ZR1 wheels.

I would like to add 285/40-17 tires to the front later on. Would like to know if anyone has these and if they fit well without rubbing. Thanks.

They'll fit fine but they should be mounted on 9.5" rims (same as your rear rims), not the 8.5" rims you most likely now have on the front (unless you've got Z51 RPO for the performance handling package which would give you 275s on 9.5" rims on all for corners). People do mount the 285s on 8.5"s but you're not supposed to for a number of reasons (wear, handling, safety, etc)...

I do have 17 x 9.5" wheels all around. Thanks for the info. Want the ability to rotate tires and I think the larger tire will look better.

Just had them put on yesterday. Everyone in the shop waiting for their pick-ups and Toyota's, etc, etc was checking out my Vette

Very nice, are they the same size as the saw blades? Where did you get them and $$$. I am looking to change mine. The vette looks totally different.

Thanks for the kind words

mdell2 - I got them from AFS on Ebay. They were $675 plus tax and shipping. Then another $150 to have them installed. I added chrome lug nuts and wheel locks. The rears are the same size as the saw blades 17 x 9.5",but, the front saw blades are 17 x 8.5". The new wheels are all 17 x 9.5".

I have been looking at the Chrome ZR1's for a while, then I saw a set of Chrome C5 wheels on a black C4 and really liked the look. I think it really does change the whole look of the car. I like the exposed brake rotor and caliper.

Next project is to change out the calipers or paint them red
