Hondas are very reliable that's why. I had a $500 '79 Honda Civic in H.S. and it was a great little car.
Our backup vehicle (aka the "Winter car") is a 2000 Blazer ZR-2. It's really a great car, 17K miles already and no problems.

My other cars are 86 RX-7 coupe, and 98 Altima. They're not backups, I just haven't gotten rid of them yet. I bought my Vette to DRIVE, not to polish, cover, and hide in a garage.

Lancia Beta Coupe.....although with the wonderful penchant towards unrealiability, Im not so certian it qualifies as a backup

We have two others. A '92 white Toyota Celica and a red '96 25th anniversary Celica. The '92 has 110,000 miles and looks and runs like new. The '96 is my wife's baby and has 57,000 and is also like new. I've put 50,000 miles on the '92 in 2 years and the thing hasn't hiccupped yet. I'm keeping it unitl the wheels fall off. It's just too good a car to ever trade or sell. Plus it gets about 40 MPG! :D

'94 Chevy 1/2 ton 4WD. I had to get something that would tow the car to the track when necessary. I also wanted to make sure I bought something that gets worse milage than the 'Vette  :D

An elderly (1989) S10 Blazer. However, my daughter (Junior this year) has an 85 Honda CRX with 153K and running strong. Well, strong for a 16 YO anyway
