Default In need of front hub bearing assembly info

I've decided to change my front hub assy and I found a brand called Timken for $174 each, compared to ac delco price. Has anyone ever used the Timken front hub assy and if so how good is it?

Timken is one of largest bearing manufacturers in the world.

I've not had to replace mine yet but if I had to I would have no problem using Timken. They have been in the business forever.

I had to be the one that the Timken bearings didn't work for. I installed the bearings with no problem and I went to get the front end aligned because I replaced the rack with a sport rack. Just before the car was to be aligned the mechanic checked the front wheels for play and they turned out to be very loose in fact they were worse than the ones I replaced, so to make a long story short I re-installed the old ones and had to send the new ones back through the mail paying for the postage. I lost money on that deal.

I think Timken made bearings for the very first car that rolled and aircraft that flew.

They might put their name on the box, but whats inside could be made by any of a number of manufacturers.

Read up on how to use the f-body bearings, they're cheaper.
