Default New Vipers

Anyone see the new Vipers? Still the V10, 505 cubes,510 HP and 535 ft lbs. of torque-the scary part is the torque-about the same from 1500-5600 RPMs. The generals gonna have to get back to the drawing board. I really believe if I could afford one-I'd be driving one. One thing-a comment in the article-"The new Viper Coupe has a look unlike any other car on the market" Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, looks a little familiar to me! how about you?

The C6 Z06 is roughly 20-25K cheaper. I would stick with that.
I sat in a Viper Mamba last year. The exterior I like but the interior seems tigher than when I sit in my C4. I must be getting fat again.

Gas mileage probably sucks on a big V10 like that. I know Vettes are known for their versatility in the performance and gas mileage department. Well, that gas mileage statement is only true if you don't drive it all the time like you stole it.

Had a chance to drive both a Viper and a new C6 recently. My impression was that while the Viper has a whole LOT of raw horsepower, it is really, really "squirrelly" and it would be very easy to lose control of the car. The C6 seemed to have far better engineering and gave you the feeling that you'd have a much better chance of keeping it on the road than the Viper. I also wasn't all that impressed with the Viper's finishing, inside and out. Considering the price, it looked more like something that came out of a hotrod garage than being a premium car of a major automaker. For the money you get a lot more with the Corvette.

The Viper puts up some pretty guady numbers, but, without a doubt, the C6 offers more refinement, better perfomance, and a better value.
