Hi - Low Headlight Switch - Progress (maybe)
I started to find out why my Headlamp Dimmer Switch was not working. I purchased this 95 a few weeks ago and the switch was working, now it is a limp fish. I have marked the item #’s from the FSM Figure 1 Page 3F5B-2
I removed the column housing cover end cap (25) and the column housing cover end base plate (24). There I found the Dimmer Switch Rod (77) hanging loose and also movable up and down the shaft so it is not connected to the Dimmer Switch ASM (77). Now here is the kicker, I can’t seem to see where the Dimmer Switch Rod Actuator (21) is. I don’t recall seeing the Switch Actuator Pivot Pin (22) either.
I move the turn signal lever forward and back, I can’t seem to see where the actuator is to connect the top end of the Dimmer Rod. I don’t even see the Actuator loose. Does the Pivot Pin pull/push the Actuator leaving the top end of the rod “floating” in the Actuator?
Nothing fell on the floor as I removed the covers and I can’t see how it would have fallen down the column. Do I need to pull the steering wheel to reconnect the top end? Any suggestions on how I can find it?
Thanks in advance!

I think that the rod does float in the pivot assembly or whatever it is called. Try pushing the turn signal lever towards the dash while pushing the rod into place. It has been a while since I have done this, but that was the cure if I remember correctly.
