Tech2 and/or tech1 users CCM download question

I am trying to replace the ccm on my 1996 (first year obd2) cant get tech1 to commincate even with adapter tech2 commincates fine but I cant figure out how to download and upload old ccm data to new ccm with tech 2 ...can anyone help?

you have the right cartridge in the Tech 1?

its been a while since i played with a Tech 1

Yes, I have the mass storage cartridge. Its the OBD2 on the 96 that is causing the problem
