My car isn't a dog!! :D :D :D
Well, the l98 is kind of a dog, but mine isn't.. relatively. I went to the track for the first time tonight and raced against 1K Sport (89 convertible, not his GS)
I kinda messed up on the staging and got a REAL crappy r/t (1.18) and got a 60' time of 2.1.. left his butt in the dust and ran a 14.30 @ 95mph!
It was about 92f outside, and the car was at 200. I didn't launch it, just nailed it. The second time, I raced Timspeed.. I got a .7 r/t, same 60', he pulled a 2.0 flat 60 (better than the z06's that were running) and left me at the line. I came from behind and got him with my 14.5 vs his 14.62
I feel MUCH better about my car now :D

I bet i could pull a 14 flat, if the car was cooler, it wasnt so hot outside, and i actually launched it, and got a good R/T

Temps make a big difference! My '85 went from 14.05 in 100 degree weather to 13.73 in 50 degree weather!
You should be hitting the 14.0 with cooler weather.

What is the elevation of your racetrack? That alone could have killed a couple of mph. If you we're at E-Town.. in "GOOD AIR" I think a high 13-low 14 is TOTALLY possible.
Glad you had fun.

Sea level is a relative term.. you might think it's sea level..but it's not. Altitude depends on air density. For example: E Town is all over the place. on altitude due to weather/humidity conditions. John Panuzzo has a TAG weather station..and typically we're up between 0 on a good day or 2500' on a sticky summer day. That greatly affects the incoming air your car has to breathe. That'll give you a solid .3 and 3 mph(I've seen Johns car go from a 12.9@105(Crap air) to a 12.4@108.X in GOOD AIR alone). So,see if you can find someone with a weather station(I'm sure there is someone with one) and ask the DA...or density altitude(Think thats what that's abbreviated for). Go from there. GOOD LUCK.

Congratulations on some good ETs. You had great times for your first time out. It's about the most fun you can have with your clothes on. :yesnod:

Good work! I may go to the track next weekend. Those times sound great. This track is at 5800' tho, I suspect that may make a diffference.

I can't say I'm surprised at how slow my '89 Vert was. What a slouch. I wish I would of brought the GS up. Although, the wife got to race for the first time and she had a blast!

It was quite a fun time Brian. I now can say my car hath hit 13's! My last run of the night, it was about 60º outside, and it was me and a silver Z06. I cut a .580 light, 1.9x 60' and then the Z06 kicked my butt. I did hit a 13.86@102 though! Woot woot. My 1.9 60' was perfectly launching and doing the proper amount of walking it out. I'm happy, since I seen a 10 second car run a 1.7x 60. Yeehaw.
