New addition!
Should be picking this up tomorrow:
I just can't wait any longer for my engine to be done, I have to be driving a Corvette!
This is an 89 with ZF6, camel leather, with 117k on the clock. It will be my daily driver. I actually have not seen it yet since it is fairly far from me, but I will tomorrow. Hopefully if it is not as advertised I will have the strength to walk away. My 95 was a basketcase when I bought it 5 years ago, but I got it anyway.
Supposedly he says the only thing possibly wrong is that the air pump makes noise when the engine is cold, but it goes away when warm and was told it is "normal". I can't imagine anything making noise when cold is normal, but I've never had an 89 before, so who knows.
YES! DigiDash here I come! I'm excited- I've always wanted an 89 6 speed. Wish me luck picking it up tomorrow.

Well, it looked great in the pics, but the closer I got, it was apparent this car had been repainted by the likes of Maaco. When the guy said he had to take it back a few times for them to get it right, and the overspray, that confirmed it. A great 10-20ft car, but got ugly fast. Interior was in surprising condition, I think the seats may have been recovered actually because the owner was "bigger" and I've seen what a wide load does to Vette seats- it ain't pretty. It had a new Astro transparent roof that didn't fit for crap- you had to shut the passenger side door on the glass so it would bend it enough not to hit the metal tabs on the roof panel. There was some bizarre aftermarket high energy ignition system half-azzed installed, but disconnected because the controller was mounted by the headlights- yep, killed by water. All the smog stuff was disconnected, had no cats so that would have been a problem, given the tabs were due and I live in a smog area. To top it all off, the blower motor didn't work. After that, I just said screw it. The fiance was nice enough to "let" me get another Vette, but I knew if I brought this one home, she'd never trust my judgement again. It hurts to walk away from a Vette, but after my last two, I know what to walk away from.
Too bad too, the D44 was silent (could have used that in my 95) and the ZF6 shifted really well and the Edelbrock intake it had really seemed to extend the usable power range of the L98.
Oh, I forgot, on the test drive, it was running bad and I said "feels like it's running on 7 cylinders" - he says "it's just been sitting for a while, lets run it out and see if it gets better". Obviously it didn't improve and I found a plug wire dangling when we got back. I said "I know my V7s from a V8".
No Atari dash for me afterall...

Apparently the seller wasn't too honest in representing to car to you.
I hate it when some jerk pees on my leg and tries to tell me it's raining.
Keep looking, it's a target rich environment in some areas.
