I got it at a car lot in Mount Vernon, IN. It was there for about two weeks before I looked at it. The salesman said no one else had been interested in it. I won't park until the weather gets bad but I was thinking about some snow tires.

It's Barb and Jerry Hilbert. When I bought mine back in 2002, the previous owner told me about the "Copper Keepers" but I never tried to contact them...

Hey copper1994, is this your car?... Whoops, guess it is, found one of your posts looking for a C5 with you email addy in it. Stop messing around looking for a C5 and put that money into this car. It could be real badass.

here's a couple of pictures of mine.

http://groups.msn.com/chaniarts/cars...to&PhotoID=218

i got it with about 30k miles in 97. it was the west coast press car, and was on the cover of vette in early 94 when hib used it on a road trip and wrote an article on it.

it's been my daily driver since, and has over 130k on it now.

besides the normal maintenance items, the only thing i've replaced is the water pump and rear main seal & clutch. i've swapped out the crappy bose after fixing it twice with a jvc that i can jack my ipod into. i've done lots of autox in it, and have taken it cross country a couple of times, for some open track days at phoenix international raceway, the bondurant track, and the gm testing grounds. heck, it's been more reliable than my toyota 4runner which also has over 130k on it.

it still gets 24city/30highway. being in az, i can drive it all year, and just took the top off, which probably won't get replaced until march or so.

I had a 69 AMX that was called Bittersweet Orange. The metallic made it look more copper than orange. Not to be confused with Big Bad Orange. The bottom car is more accurate as to what it looked like. http://users.vnet.net/crmm/myamx.html

Mine has a tan interior in excellent shape. Runs great and I even like the Bose sound system. It's a great car with a great color!!!

it just rolled 200k miles a couple of weeks ago. still no major repairs besides a new rad because of a split in one of the side tanks.

This is a pic of a 1992 copper prototype that I saw at the NCM this past year. VERY nice looking car/color in person. Had I known then what I know now (isn't that always the case?) I'd have looked for one when shopping, but I'm still more than happy with my BAM

astepup said that
